Information from the police Intel is sent out to members and contains details of Burglaries, Missing persons, Thefts, Graffiti, vandalism and stolen and found property some of this will be portrayed on the new New Plymouth police web site www.newplymouthpolice@govt nz
Information and inquires is also channeled back from members by the same medium , the flow of information is a vital factor in assisting the community and police in their ongoing efforts to reduce crime.
Neighbourhood Support is one of the strongest organizations in the advocacy of community support in crime prevention, being actively involved is one way of being informed and aware of situation around you and your family.
C-watch is the commercial e-mail network linking companies with information regarding security and crime matters that could affect their business, the flow of information is critical in the attempt to reduce crime and its a affects on the Taranaki Region. the commercial watch includes special " watches" for certain business activities they include chemists, service stations, accommodation as separate information areas.
Rural watch involves farms and people living in rural areas, these areas are often the last to be informed of activities and trends in their locations due to the nature of their work and isolated post ions, Neighbourhood Support tries to get the information out to them at the earliest opportunity and to date we have had a large amount of information being shared within that community.
